2000 Miles +
Kevin Whitley aka Kayak Kevin
For years I have paddled with a Surf to Summit seat under me. My Elite seat was a permanent part of my touring kayak which has taken me over 2,000 miles and three tours. Now the folks at Surf to Summit have outdone themselves with the new Expedition seat. Like the name implies, this seat can handle the miles, with the most bottom padding ever put into a seat. The fully adjustable high back rest has the ultimate comfort for the long haul. Touring is inherently uncomfortable due to the winds, currents and miles of paddling. Having the most comfortable seat made is a blessing. I just put 200 miles on the Expedition in total luxury, and in 2009, I will put 3000 more miles on the Surf to Summit Expedition seat. |

An extremely satisfied customer!

Brandon,
Just a follow-up note, I paddled with my GTS Expedition seat for the first time on Monday 4/27/09 for about 2 hours. Not the slightest bit of back fatigue. I wish I had discovered your company about 7 years ago. I located S to S because I was tired of having a sore back each time I yak'd. My local shop never had a seat that looked any more substantial than the standard Ocean seat. IT FORCED ME TO GO HUNTING for a seat that would be much more comfortable! To my amazement I have found one that works. You can't put a price on comfort. You pay all this money for a kayak then cheap out with the standard seat and the accompanying sore back. The GTS eliminates all that discomfort with the snap of a turnbuckle!
Got to see a pair of river otters at our lake in the Poconos Mtns while I was demo-ing the seat. They are rare and elusive in Eastern PA. I accidently glided up on them and we scared each other to death. I was about 4 feet away minding my own business when one flew up out of the water and slapped it's tail on the surface while the other slide into the water from the shore like a fuzzy torpedo about 8 feet away. Pure mayhem ensued upsetting my nautical and anatomical reverie! They ended up fishing off our dock at the "sweet spot" and ignored me as I watched from a short distance with no mal-intent. They're like the Labrador Retrievers of the water, frolicking and playful. Maybe they'll have some pups? I hope they leave some fish?
The GTS E was everything you said that it would be and then some. This is a seat you can kayak in for hours. It's the Strato Lounger for sit-on-top kayaks.
I'm really looking forward to the season and can't wait to get back out on the water!
Thanks for your help. I am an extremely satisfied customer! I'm sure that I will get you guys some referral business.
Regards,
Rob Burns
